They are reasonably loose with doujinshi and other fan-works, but using the actual material is prohibited. If you look at any Japanese site devoted to anime or manga, you will see plenty of fan-pics, but never any actual scans or screenshots, and that is why. And that is, I'm sure, why all such scans are left for only a day or so here before being deleted. The defunct SP-TV site is a prime example. There are a few "hidden" sites as well that go to great lengths to keep the pics hard to find without some difficult hunting. The explainations given are because of copywrite laws, Anyway, I won't fill up the BBS with this discussion anymore, so it'll be my last post on the subject.
